Healthwise is a not-for-profit educational, charitable, and
scientific organization founded in 1975 to help people do a better
job of staying healthy and taking care of their health problems.
Healthwise has won national recognition for its expertise in the
following areas:

Healthwise has received many awards for its activities. These
include the 1996 Spirit of Innovation Award for the Healthwise
Communities Project, the 1994 National Health Information Gold Award
for Health Care Consumer Information, and the Healthy Older Adults
2000 Recognition Program for Exemplary Contributions to Healthy
Aging 1992 Award for Healthwise for Life.
All information published by Healthwise undergoes rigorous
scrutiny before it is made available to the public. Each topic is
initially reviewed by the Healthwise Medical Director or one of
three Associate Medical Directors, who are board-certified in family
practice, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. The
text is then submitted for further review by a member of the Healthwise Medical
Review Board. Review Board members are board-certified in their
specialty areas. |
